Today as I was walking along the pathway to class with Ginny, we noticed a group of people surrounding a man named Tom who preaches Jesus in the free speech area on campus. When we walked up, there were about 50 others surrounding the area and a few were yelling at him for what he was saying. I don't agree with a lot of the things Tom was saying or the way he went about sharing the gospel, but I do respect his courage and heart. I didn't realize how great of an opportunity it would be to share God's word in the way I believe Jesus taught was the best way, but it ended up happening. That's just how God works.
Ginny and I walked up to a guy who was agnostic. It was my first time ever sharing Jesus with a perfect stranger that believed something totally different from me. And I wasn't scared or nervous. Ginny was amazing and God was using her in incredible ways throughout the conversation. After about 45 minutes of talking to him, we were able to give him scripture to read and became good acquaintances. Ginny and I pumped with the Holy Spirit were seeking out some more people to share Jesus with. Ginny picks out two guys who were standing there for a while listening to Tom. We walk over and introduce ourselves, asking what they thought about what he was saying. They too were agnostic. I shared my testimony, scripture, and hopefully encouragement!! It was so exciting! Ginny also got to share her testimony and scripture! The guys were all so open-minded and I really admired them for taking in what we were saying and just being receptive to learning about who God is.
It was a period in time when I knew that what I was doing was exactly what God would choose for me to do in that moment. And that was AWESOME. I was living out God's purpose for my life with my best friend! It was unbelievable and totally God-ordained!
